Kairos Media Workshop
On Tuesday the 10th of October, we went to the Kairos Media Workshop in Maynooth to make our own short TV programme. Kairos had a fully working TV studio with 3 cameras, a sound room and a camera control room.
Before we went we had already decided what type of show we were doing and who was doing what part in the show. I was the visual mixer, which means that I was in charge of putting visual over the cameras and switching between cameras.
Our show was made up of two interviews, a fashion show, sports news and weather. We had the whole day to rehearse and record our show. We rehearsed from when we had put the finishing touches on the running order of the show at around 10 o'clock to lunchtime. After lunch, we were able to do two runs of the show that were recorded.
After we recorded our show, the studio makes a disk of it sends it to the school for us to watch.
I really enjoyed this experience as it was a lot of fun and it was very interesting to see how TV shows are recorded and what the studios are like.
