Wellbeing Week
The week from Monday the 6th of November to Friday the 10th of November was wellbeing week. Over the week we had a number of different talks from a number of different people about a number of different things, including healthy food, controlling anxiety and depression. We also had a workshop about depression, bipolar disorder and other mental health issues.
On Monday we had a talk about healthy food programmes in Ireland, from the Minister for Health, Simon Harris. He talked about how the government have put healthy food programmes in place to improve the health of people in Ireland. We also had a talk from a meditation teacher called Alison Canavan, who talked to us about anxiety and how to control it.
On Wednesday, we had a talk about food, about how what you eat affects how you feel and what foods we can eat to feel better.
On Friday, we had a workshop from a company called AWARE, which showed us how to see the symptoms, deal with and get past depression and other mental health issues. The workshop also taught us about bipolar disorder, the symptoms and what it does to the person.
Overall, I enjoyed the talks and workshops I took part in during wellbeing week. I found them to be very helpful and informative.
